Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade 2013
Parade Start Time 10 AM.

Parade Route - The parade begins at Ellsworth Drive and Veterans Place and proceeds South on Georgia Avenue, ending at Silver Spring Avenue.

    Kick off the holiday season and celebrate Thanksgiving with a parade on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the heart of Silver Spring, Maryland. The Thanksgiving parade will include giant balloons, floats which will promote the Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District. The parade will have the Washington Redskins Marching Band, The Greater Overbrook String Band from Philadelphia, plus local high school bands from Montgomery Blair, Einstein and Eubie Blake. There will be the mounted police, fire engines, antique classic cars, the Shriners, dancing groups and a visit from Santa Claus on his sleigh and accompanied by reindeers and elves throwing candy canes to the crowd. ABC 7 Meteorologist Brian van de Graaff will serve as master of ceremonies. The parade will be held rain or shine and will be broadcast live on News Channel 8. The telecast will be repeated on Thanksgiving Day.
